For anyone who wants an update, here it is from Discord. It was not in their rules that this cannot be shared, so:
the devs i'm in contact with are reviewing the script and current assets to see if they want to take on the project, but that was back in February. I believe they're currently working on their own project at the moment so i'm waiting to contact them again to see if theyve reached a decision. i tried to ask for an update in march but didn't receive a reply so i'm assuming theyre quite busy right now. kind of hard to decide what to do because i want to see what they say before anything. not really sure what to do otherwise, unfortunately. i don't want to give too much hope that they'll take it on, because it's all up in the air right now. this is kind of where everything stands at the moment.
This is from 4th April 2025. Sorry to the developer if this is not allowed, and RIP if I get kicked or whatever, but I believe game developers should always be transparent, and development updates should always be accessible.

The lead of the game has been trying to contact developers to take on the project, but the ones they are in contact with right now haven't gotten back to them since February. Before that, it's been a lot of fails with trying to get studios/devs to take over production of the game, I think since a year ago. So nothing has progressed, everything is "up in the air".
